The Engineering Section is responsible for providing technical assistance to all government implemented civil and coastal projects

The key activities are:

• Design and Consultancy
• Project implementation and management
• Physical survey and guardianship of survey information
• Building approvals

Design and Consultancy:

This includes the provision of design serves and consultancy for both internal and other ministries coastal and civil infrastructure projects.

Project implementation and management:

Includes direct management of projects implemented by this ministry and provision of consultancy services for all government civil and coastal infrastructure projects.

Physical survey:

The section provides topographic and hydrographic surveying facilities for collect,  distribute, physical survey information to all industry partners

Building Approvals:

Currently all buildings on outer atolls and buildings above two stories in Male’ and K.Villingilli needs to be checked for structural safety and stability.
